About Our South Florida Equestrian Communities
South Florida is not only home to a rapidly
increasing population of humans, but it is also the home to
a large population of horses as Floridians take pleasure in
horse-owning and the recreational and competitive opportunities
available in the area.
Due to the South Florida area’s dense
population, land can be viewed as a rare commodity and the
sufficient land needed to constitute a horse property may
be hard to come by.
Specific communities have been designed to accommodate
horse owners and bring together residents with a shared passion
for horses.
In Miami, those areas of the Horse Country,
the agriculturally-rich city of Homestead, the Redland community
in Southwest Dade County, and the 8.5 Square Mile area, a
country community along the eastern edge of the Everglades,
all provide communities boasting a large horse-owning population.
In Broward County, the city of Parkland, the
town of Southwest Ranches, and Davie with its western feel,
all cater to residents with a strong equestrian-oriented lifestyle.
Palm Beach County boasts one of South Florida’s
most renowned equestrian communities, the
city of Wellington, which plays host to one of
the largest horse shows in the world, the Winter Equestrian
Festival.
